Despite her success in modeling and acting, Gelila had always been drawn to filmmaking. In 2015, she directed a 22-minute documentary titled "Mai: Life is not honey", which explores the impact of climate change on beekeeping communities in Ethiopia.

This hardcover photography book contains all of Gelilia's photographs. It details the splendor of her native Ethiopia's people and landscape.
