I started using the 'Learn Afaan Oromo language' app a while ago to improve my Oromo language skills, and I have mixed feelings about it. I have been butchering the Oromo language's pronunciation, and this app has helped me see it. The vocabulary is also well-categorized and easy to navigate, making it easy to focus on specific topics. However, I do have a few criticisms of the app. Firstly; I found that it lacks depth in some areas. For example, how it addresses numbers is very shallow. It counts from 1 to 19 and then jumps and says 100, and that’s it. The basic mathematical operations are also ignored. While the vocabulary is well-organized, it can feel a bit limited at times, and I would have liked to see more detailed explanations of grammar and sentence structure. Additionally, the app shows way too many ads, which can be distracting and disrupt the flow of my learning. I understand that showing ads might be the only way to get income for a lot of mobile apps, but the ads should never disrupt the user experience. Overall, while the 'Learn Afaan Oromo language' app has some useful features, it does have some drawbacks that may make it less appealing to some learners. If you're looking for a basic introduction to the Oromo language, this app could be a good option, but if you want to dive deeper into the language, you may need to look for additional resources.
